Pocket pets, like hamsters, hedgehogs, guinea pigs and rats, have grown in popularity over the past few years. Just like any of the other furry (or non-furry) friends we treat, they need regular veterinary exams so we can stay up-to-date with their care needs. Veterinary visits shouldn’t only be reserved for when your pet is sick.
When should I schedule a visit?
Depending on your pet’s overall health, we could need to see them more regularly than once a year, especially if they have underlying health issues. To book their yearly exam, please contact us at 604-464-6666. Signs that you should bring your pet in earlier include:
- Hair loss
- Difficulty breathing
- Runny nose or eyes
- Loss of appetite
- Diarrhea
- Bald patches
