Is weight management effective?
Over the past two years, we’ve seen impressive results through this program. Overweight pets are more common these days, so it can be difficult to determine if your pet is overweight, solely by looking at them. We will assess their metrics, including their weight, lifestyle and underlying health issues to determine a healthy weight for your furry family member. Though weight loss is the main goal, we also want to make sure your pet is as healthy as possible, so they can continue to live a long, happy life with you.
How does the program work?
Before we determine which weight management plan will work best for your pet, we’ll do a consultation. During the consultation, you will discuss your home life, previous struggles and goals you want your pet to achieve while on the program. Then, we’ll work together to co-create a specific plan tailored to your pet’s needs. This will include behaviour modifications, diet changes and exercise. How do you check my pet’s progress?
This is a collaborative process between our team, you and your furry family member. This means we’ll do check-ins weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Based on your pet’s progress, we’ll catalog photos, measurements and make changes to the plan as needed. Our goal is to support you to improve your pet’s overall quality of life since overweight pets have a shorter lifespan and are predisposed to a range of health issues.
